Lake District Summer Music Festival

This weekend I had the privilege of taking part in the 2022 Lake District Summer Music Festival. On Saturday, I travelled to Kendal to take part in a masterclass with tenor Robert Murray. I had a fantastic time singing two Vaughan Williams songs, Orpheus with his Lute and The Sky Above the Roof, with pianist George Herbert. The following day, I was thrilled to be performing in the Festival Finale in Kendal as a soloist with the Royal Northern Sinfonia and the Festival Chorus for Sinfonia Antartica. The music for the symphony originally derived from the 1948 film Scott of the Antarctic, telling the story of an ill-fated expedition to the South Pole. This particular performance involved narration which really brought the story to life. It was also wonderful to hear Vaughan Williams Toward the Unknown Region and McDowall’s Seventy Degrees Below Zero. A fantastic weekend!
